The Craftsman

Since 1994. One pair of hands.

MITERBOX began in 1994. For more than three decades, the work has been the same: careful joinery, honest materials, and cabinetry built to outlast trends. Those years were spent crafting pieces for multimillion-dollar homes in and around Austin, Texas — rooms where the details had to be invisible until you looked closely.

The shop is in Nampa now, closer to family. The approach has not changed. Every project is designed and built by the owner, from first sketch to final install. No shortcuts. Only one or two commissions are taken each month.

The work is for custom homebuilders and homeowners in the Treasure Valley who want something made specifically for their house — and who understand that that kind of care takes time.

How it works

The Process

A short path from conversation to install — kept personal because the capacity is intentionally small.

    Consultation

    We talk through the space, the materials, and the pace. Not every project is a fit — and that is intentional.

  2. 02

    Design

    Drawings and details are refined until the piece belongs to the room. Proportion and grain are decided with care.

  3. 03

    Hand-build

    Built alone in the Nampa workshop. Joinery, finish, and fitment are handled by the same hands that designed it.

  4. 04

    Install

    Installed with the same attention given at the bench — quiet, precise, and finished before the house notices.
